Review: Oleavine Beauty Konjac Sponge

Oleavine Beauty Konjac Facial Sponge

In my quest for better skin, I’ve tried a lot of different things–from creams and scrubs to masks and serums. I have never, however, tried a sponge that wasn’t harsh and scratchy. (I’ll admit to being a fan of the Buf-Puf back in the day.) Recently, I’ve come to realize that harsh things only make my things worse, and aren’t the answer to getting smooth and radiant skin.

The Oleavine Beauty Konjac Facial Sponge is infused with charcoal and made from natural fibers. Though it’s rock hard when removed from the package, it softens quickly when wet. The sponge claims to provide gentle exfoliation and can be used with or without cleanser. It’s PH balanced to absorb toxins, removes excess oils, and fights bacteria. It is also 100% biodegradable.

In my personal experience, I found that I preferred to use the sponge with cleanser. I’m fighting some excessive oiliness in my t-zone and I felt like without cleanser, even though the sponge got my face clean, it wasn’t as oil-free as I prefer. I think that people with normal-to-dry skin could definitely not use a cleanser and have flawless skin with this sponge. In the winter months, when my skin becomes very dry, I think this will work well for me.

Overall, I was really impressed with this sponge and much prefer it to scratchy, drugstore alternatives.

This product can be purchased from Amazon for $10 and ships free with Prime. For more information, please visit the Oleavine website or facebook page.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

  • I’ve been interested in trying a konjac sponge for a long time. My face is SOOO easily upset that I’m not sure if it would destroy the balance?

    • Konjac sponges are PH balanced, so they shouldn’t cause you any issues. 🙂

  • Interesting. I may have to give this a try as well. Funny, at first glance, I thought it was an avocado. 🙂

    • It definitely does resemble an avocado. Now I’m craving guacamole! 😛

I really enjoy using Konjac sponges. I think they are a great alternative to some more expensive cleansing brushes and scrubs that are out there. I haven’t tried this brand, but I’ll have to remember to give them a try next time I need to reorder one!

    • I really liked this one and am interested in trying others. I’ve seen white ones and red ones, though I’m not sure what the different benefits are.
