I remember the first time I saw a snail product on Memebox’s site. My first thoughts were something along the lines of, “Ewwww! That’s disgusting! I’m not putting that on my face!!” I had no idea how snails were incorporated into beauty products. Did they grind them up and put them in facial cleanser? Would I find juicy bits of snail in my moisturizer? After a little research, I realized it was simply the snail slime that was added, but even that seemed a little gross. I was imagining tubs of smelly, slimey, snail goo.
Thankfully, the products actually just seem…well, normal. I’ve used several types of masks that included snail mucin and have really enjoyed them. (The peeling mask I currently use makes my face feel so soft!) These products are a huge trend in Japan and Korea, with origins dating back to the ancient Greeks. I’m really excited to try a box full of these products!
The Snail #2 Superbox was sold for $32.00 plus $6.99 shipping.

01. Dewytree Ultravitalizing Snail Cream
80 ml || $46
Dewytree products are fantastic, so I’m really looking forward to using this cream. It’s enriched with snail mucus extracts, betaine, and adenosine to restore nutrition to dry, stressed-out skin. It has a unique texture, allowing the cream to stretch out like a spider web (or maybe fresh mozzarella, like the milk-based cream that was found in earlier boxes).
02. Pure Smile Snail Hand Cream Milk
60 g || $5
This hand cream is very moisturizing and has a very pleasant scent. It’s packed with tons of natural ingredients–snail mucus extracts, milk protein extracts, olive oil, macadamia seed oil, shea butter, green tea extracts, aloe vera leaf extracts, and collagen extracts. I also love the little trails of snails on the packaging!
03. CNKCOS Snail Bubble Foam Cleansing
150 ml || $17
This foam cleanser has a mousse consistency. It is supposed to be very effective in removing makeup residue and impurities from the skin. I have a bit of an overload of cleaners to use that moment, but I’ll put this one in line for later.
04. CLEOSIS Origin Ampoule No. 3
30 ml || $84
This ampoule seems more like the ones I like, with a consistency more similar to oil. I feel like I get better results with these, as I like to apply them on their own. (The thinner, water-like ampoules are often meant to be mixed with another serum or moisturizer.) It contains 99.5% hydraprotectol snail extracts and is highly nourishing and moisturizing. The formula is also supposed to treat blemishes and troubles in oily skin types. I’m almost afraid to fall in love with it because of the cost. Yikes!
05. Hanhui Snail Skin Refinisher CC Cream
50 ml || $18
This CC Cream is SPF 50, which is great for my fair skin in the summer. The cream is a whipped texture and should help to even out skin tone and texture. I really like that there’s a pump, which helps me not to waste product or use too much.
06. Secret Key Snail+EGF Repairing Gel Cream
50 g || $18
This gel consistency cream has a light texture that is gentle for all skin types. It offers a refreshing, cooling effect when applied. The gel is supposed to smooth, moisturize, and repair dry, damaged skin. I think this is a product I would save to use in winter, when my skin tends to get very dry and irritated.
07. Secret Key Snail+EGF Repairing Mask Pack
20 g || $5
I love that Memebox often throws in sheet masks. They’re a cheap way to step into the waters of Korean cosmetics. Maybe a nice first test with snail products! This particular mask is supposed to assist with skin regeneration and provide deep nourishment. The formula also helps to soothe and heal redness and blemishes.
Total value: $193
This was such a great box. Even with the two face creams, I still felt like it was a great mix of products. If another snail box is introduced, I definitely plan to purchase.
Would you put snail slime on your face?
