Ipsy: October 2014

Ipsy: October 2014

Oh, Ipsy. Why can’t I quit you?

About Ipsy:

The Bag

Ipsy: October 2014 Bag

This is my favorite bag I’ve gotten from Ipsy so far. I love the size, the quilted design, and the color. This will be fantastic for holding the hoard of lipsticks I keep in my purse.

Kiss i-Envy Premium Human Hair Lashes in Diva 01
Full size: 1 pair, $2.95

Kiss i-Envy Premium Human Hair Lashes

I just sent away a bunch of falsies to someone that enjoys them. I have a lot of trouble applying them on my own. I end up with irritated eyes, messed up makeup, or I just pull them off in frustration. I might save these and give them a try for the holidays, though.

skyn Iceland Glacial Cleansing Cloths
10 cloths, $5 || Full size: 30 cloths, $15

skyn Iceland Glacial Cleansing Cloths

Makeup wipes are always something I can use. I’ve liked the skyn Iceland products I’ve sampled in the past, so hopefully these live up to expectations.

Figs & Rouge Mango Mandarin Hand Cream
Full size: 20 ml, $6.56

Figs & Rouge Mango Mandarin Hand Cream

I was expecting this to smell like figs, even though that’s the brand name and not the scent. Weird. I like the citrus scent, though, and that this cream includes shea butter. I feel like I’ve gotten a lot of hand creams recently, but I think this is only actually the second one.

Mica Beauty Cosmetics Shimmer Powder in 34 Harlequin
Full size: 0.1 oz., $14.95

Mica Beauty Cosmetics Shimmer Powder

Mica Beauty products have been hit or miss for me in the past, so I haven’t quite decided whether to try this or save it for a swap. I have quite a few indie pigments in green that I have been using, but none in this shade. I love a good shimmer, so I may keep it and play around with it.

noyah All-Natural Lipstick in Deeply in Mauve
1.4 g, $5.60 || Full size: 4.5 g, $18

noyah All-Natural Lipstick

I love lipstick samples. Probably from being a child and getting tiny Avon samples from my grandma. The color of this is a really deep mauve, which I think will be great for the fall. I have never heard of this brand or used an all-natural lipstick, which makes this the favorite of the beauty items I got in my bag this month.

Total value: $35.06

Other than the bag, I wasn’t overly excited by anything this month. Not a bad selection, but not my favorite either.

What did you get in your Ipsy bag?

  • Hey there, I found you via the NaBloPoMo blogroll.

I can tell right away that you’re going into my blogs I will like to keep reading after November pile. 😉 I love subscription boxes and I love reading about people unboxing them. I love a lipstick sample too!

And I have way too many hand creams – I bought a special tin from Crabtree and Evelyn that was full of them. I must post about that sometime – it’ll be December because November is written and scheduled already.

As part of NaBloPoMo I try to comment on as many participating blogs as I can, and I also add participating blogs to my feed reader.

So I’m just dropping by to let you know I’ve added your blog to my feedreader, I’m reading you loud and clear, I have a link up going at my place so my readers can find participating blogs which you are more than welcome to add your blog link to.

Looking forward to seeing your posts, and you’ll likely see me drop by again during November.

    Happy NaBloPoMo to you!

    • Hi,

Thank you so much for dropping by and leaving a comment. 🙂 I haven’t gotten a chance to check out any of the NaBloPoMo blogs yet, but that’s definitely on my list of things to accomplish this month. I did drop by your blog and add mine to your linkup.

I have really dry skin, so I use hand creams pretty often, but this is the first time I’ve tried any not from the drug store. So far, my favorite is the Tocca I got from Birchbox in September. It’s rose-scented, which I really like.

Happy NaBloPoMo to you as well!
