Have a rockin’ holiday with Guitar Hero Live! #holidaygiftguide

Guitar Hero Live, the pop culture phenomenon that introduced a new way to interact with music, is back with an all-new game featuring breakthrough innovations that will re-ignite your dreams of becoming a rock star. Guitar Hero Live introduces two powerful ways to play, including a first-person point of view where you are up on stage as the star of a live concert. The game also includes GHTV, a 24-hour playable music video network that will let fans play along to a continually-updated collection of official music videos (with more than 230+ songs in the current library) and let players compete with their friends as well as players from across the globe to battle for the highest score on any given song. Guitar Hero Live comes with a new guitar controller.

Guitar Hero Live is the perfect way to entertain your loved ones during the holidays with live music or videos you can either play against or have on in the background. Rock out to classics such as Queen, Amy Winehouse and Bob Dylan along with mainstream artists including Rihanna, Paramore, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Calvin Harris, 30 Seconds to Mars and more. Check out the library of more than 230 songs here.

I like to play video games, but I’m absolutely terrible at them. I knew, however, that my brother would be excited to give this one a try. I remember him owning previous versions of the game when we were younger, so I was excited to have this for us to play over the Thanksgiving holiday.

The game is more difficult than the previous version I had played. Gone are the red, green, and yellow buttons on the guitar. The new version has a more guitar-like feel, with two rows of buttons and actions that feel more like playing a guitar chord. It took some getting used to, but we definitely enjoying switching off and playing songs we love. The kit we received included one guitar; we’ve definitely got to buy another one!

Of course, my brother wasn’t the only person to enjoy the game. Hailey got her plastic guitar and played right along with him. 🙂

The interface on the game looks great. I love the library of songs, which allows users to play such a wide variety of music. It makes a great gift for anyone in your life than enjoys music and video games. The game and one guitar retails for around $100.
