Why, yes, I am posting October subscription box reviews in November. 😛
Birchbox is a subscription sampling service that delivers a box of 4-6 products to your door each month. The box is only $10 per month and offers a very generous rewards program. Each item you receive and review is worth 10 points. Every 100 points is equal to $10, which can be used to purchase full-sized products in the Birchbox shop or gift subscriptions.
dr. brandt pores no more vacuum cleaner
0.25 oz., $11.25 || Full size: 1 oz., $45
I know that Birchbox sends out dr. brandt items on a pretty regular basis, but I believe this is the first time I’ve gotten anything from this brand. I do have issues with blackheads, so this mask will definitely be put to use.
Essentiel Elements Wake Up Rosemary Shower Gel
1.5 oz., $3.56 || Full size: 8 oz., $19
A few years ago, I went to Montana and the place where I stayed featured this brand, so I got to try a whole bunch of their products. If I remember correctly, the shampoo was my favorite. I think I still have a travel size lotion in my bathroom. (Yes, I keep things for way too long!) This smells a bit medicinal to me, like tea tree and mint, but I actually really like it. I think it smells clean.
Harvey Prince Petaly Noir
1 ml., $1.10 || Full size: 50 ml, $55
Ugh. Ugh. Ugh! Please stop with the Harvey Prince, but especially the perfume samples.
This doesn’t smell terrible, but I’m not a fan of musk. I did wear this a few days ago and it gave me a headache. 🙁 This one is going into the swap pile for sure.
Mally High Shine Liquid Lipstick in Petal to the Metal
Full size: 0.12 oz., $20
This was my Pick Your Sample choice for this month. I have never used anything from Mally, so I’m pretty excited. I just wish there had been more color choices. The peach and pink that were options feel more like spring/summer than fall colors.
ModelCo PowerLash High Impact Mascara
5 ml, $10 || Full size: 10 ml , $20
I haven’t tried this, but I opened it for the picture because I just tossed a mascara. This looks so clumpy just on the brush. I’m not optimistic about its performance.
Total value: $45.91
This was an okay month for me. I wasn’t wowed by anything, but it was a nice variety. I’m really starting to think I’m just burned out on beauty boxes and need to try something else. Maybe some snack boxes would make me happy.
What do you get in your Birchbox
this month in October?
