I’ve used portable power banks in the past. I’ll generally get them, charge them up, throw in my purse and forget they’re there. Then, of course, when I actually need to use them, the unit has lost the charge and is of no help to me. I expected the same sort of outcome with this unit.
When I received the 1byone Portable Car Jump Starter and Powerbank in the mail, I immediately charged it. I meant to test it on one of my devices after that, but I kind of forgot about it. A week later, however, I was caught in an unfortunate and unexpected winter storm. The power was knocked out and remained off for more than 24 hours. As I sat in my darkened living room, with a cell phone that was quickly going dead and a Kindle that had already gone dark, I remembered the powerbank.
I turned the unit on and was surprised to see that it was at full capacity. The meter lets you know how much power you have left. I charged my Kindle completely, then was happy to see the unit still at 78%. After that, I charged two phones. This unit was quick, efficient, and easy to use. The remaining power was spent using the flashlight on the unit, which is handy!
I haven’t had cause yet to use this as a jumpstarter, but I’m pretty confident it will work. I plan to throw it with my camping gear, as the ATVs that sit for long periods of time can sometimes need a boost. This would make a great addition to anyone’s emergency kit.
